Soccer is more than a game for Latinos, its their passion.
There are more champions from Latin America than any other region of the world.
It will be some time before soccer's reign as THE Latino sport comes to an end, if ever. With a couple of exceptions (Puerto Rico, Cuba, Panama, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, where it is still important, but baseball is King), soccer is the number one sport in Latin America, and it is one of the preferences that comes along with every new Mexican, Central and South American immigrant that enters the U.S.
Soccer and baseball are one of the few things that all Hispanics, primordially those first generation Latinos, have in common, independently from their country of origin.
